Thanks for visiting the website of the University of Missouri’s Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. This department transitioned from a division of Surgery in January 2004. We are committed to providing top-notch training for otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residents in our ACGME accredited training program.

Our faculty have expertise in all areas of otolaryngology head and neck surgery, including head and neck oncology, otology and neurotology, pediatric otolaryngology, allergy and rhinology, and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. The resident’s clinical experience working with faculty in the clinics and operating room is complemented by a rigorous conference schedule and practice in the temporal bone, microvascular, and surgical skills educational labs.

The resident’s dedicated research time occurs in the OtoHNS2 (PGY3) and OtoHNS3 (PGY4) years. The monthly Research Curriculum provides a background for successful research, teaching topics including protocol design and evaluation, statistical analysis, grant-writing, working with human subjects, and the ethics of research. Collaboration with departmental faculty as well a other medical school faculty is available.

OtoHNS at MU offers a complete and thorough training, with faculty dedicated to your success. We hope you decide to come visit, and see for yourselves!
