Federal Direct Loan
This site provides information
about the Ford Federal Direct Loan,
including repayment plans, consolidation
or refinancing options, frequently
asked questions, etc. It will also
let you access borrower account
information to check your current
balance and repayment status. You
can even download deferment and
forbearance forms after your grace
periods are up. The telephone number
is 1(800) 848-0979.

student loan collections
This office collects Federal Perkins
Loans, Federal Primary Care Loans,
Loans for Disadvantaged Students
and University long-term loans
after you graduate or are no longer
enrolled. The telephone number
is (573) 882-6654.
Some MU School of Medicine graduates
may have had FFEL Stafford Loans,
government-guaranteed bank loans,
from their undergraduate education
at other schools. Usually, the
banks sell these loans to secondary-market
servicers after a student graduates
or ceases enrollment. The Web sites
of some of these secondary-market
servicers are:
Don't know who's servicing your
federal loans. Try the National
Student Loan Data System web
site. This federal web site
lists what you owe and who is servicing
the loan. You will need a pin number.
It's the same one the federal government
issued you to fill out the FAFSA
on the web. If you do not have
it, you can request it at the site.
