Summary
This is an IRBapproved retrospective study designed to describe the neurocognitive outcome of about 25 children seen with large heads and external hydrocephalus. There currently exists no satisfactory normative head growth curves for this group of patients making it difficult for pediatricians and parents to be reassured. The second part of this project is therefore to collate, analyze and produce a head circumference chart that is suitable for this group of patients. Specific activities of the participating student will be to coordinate and participate in conducting neurodevelopment assessments of the patients, and extracting a minimum data set from power chart and collate available imaging. Familiarity with database management will be an advantage.
