Summary

Due to the fast pace and political nature of health policy, the field is constantly being challenged by emerging issues. A medical student could identify an emerging issue facing physicians in the future (such as immigrant MDs, pay for performance standards, or health literacy.) Once identified the student would research the issue thoroughly and provide policy analysis and recommendations in a position statement or policy brief. This student would work with CHP core staff and faculty and with CHP affiliates who are identified to have expertise in the chosen issue.
