MU-ICTS
Welcome to the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science MU-ICTS
Extensive planning and transformational activities at MU have confirmed a strong campuswide commitment to “new ways of doing business.” A shared vision regarding interdisciplinary collaboration in clinical and translational science has led us to activate the MU Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (MU-ICTS). Extensive strategic, organizational, and financial planning preceded the activation of the MU-ICTS in 2007. Drs. Jamal A. Ibdah and Jerry C. Parker were named as Director and Co-Director, respectively, and key leaders (Associate Directors) have been appointed from multiple schools/colleges across the MU campus, including Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Engineering, and Journalism. Other major leaders within the MU-ICTS (Core Leaders) represent several additional schools/colleges, including Nursing, Education, Arts and Science, Health Professions, and Law. The activation of the MU-ICTS came with commitments from the Provost and Deans to designate 33 faculty from existing MU schools/colleges into the new campus home for clinical and translational science. The interdisciplinary faculty represented in the MU-ICTS extends participation to even more schools/colleges, including Human Environmental Sciences, Agriculture/Food/Natural Resources, and Business. At its inception, the MU-ICTS leadership and designated faculty constitute a diverse team of interdisciplinary researchers and educators who are highly committed to the new academic home and to the mission of the MU-ICTS.Meet The Team...
