Salary & Benefits

Malpractice Insurance: Malpractice insurance is provided for all activities associated with the Residency Program.

Other Insurance: Medical and dental insurance policies for the individual or the family are available on cost sharing basis through the University of Missouri. Long-Term disability and life insurance are included. The disability will cover 60% of the resident's salary after five months, and the life insurance policy is equal to the resident's annual salary.

Educational Benefits: The department provides each resident with a $400 professional allocation each year. Travel money is usually available for residents presenting papers at national meetings. There is also a resident education fund that provides money to buy new books for the department library, update the resident computers or purchase other education materials.

Campus Benefits: Resident physicians in the University of Missouri system are eligible for student rates to sporting and cultural events. Additionally, they have access to student facilities such as the 150,000 square foot student recreation center, an olympic size swimming pool, and campus library.
