 Chairman's Note of Welcome
Welcome to the Department of Neurology at the University of Missouri - School of Medicine. You are joining a department that stands for excellence in patient care, education and clinical research. We are extremely proud of our faculty, our residents, our staff, our educational programs and our facilities.

Our residency is dedicated to developing comprehensive understanding of the field of clinical neurology and neuroscience. Your rotations will comprise of clinical as well as elective rotations as recommended and approved Neurology residency review committee of ACGME and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. The mission of the residency is to provide excellence in education to our residents so that you become superb, competent and confident physicians. In our endeavor to continually improve the residency, your feedback is needed and will be kept completely confidential. Just as faculty and students will evaluate you, you will evaluate students and faculty.
You will have the educational material that is needed at your disposal in order to complete your tasks. You will be an important part of the Neurology family. You will always be welcome to discuss any issues of concern with your senior residents, your assigned mentor or other faculty members, and with director of the residency program. Your learning process will also ask you to help in educating other residents (rotating residents), medical students, nurses and health care professionals. We are a team and we work together to provide the best care to our patients and best educational opportunities for our trainees at all levels.
