Demonstration of Adult and Pediatric Dialysis Procedures and Educational Tools

The purpose of this session is to enable professional dialysis nurses to share expertise and experience on a wide variety of dialysis procedures, educational tools and specific equipment that enhances safety and patient care. If you are interested in participating in this session, please submit a sample handout including the following:

Name, title, institution, phone number, mailing and e-mail addresses;
A complete description of the procedure or education tool as used at your dialysis facility including a list of all required equipment and supplies
A list of benefits
A list of potential problems which could occur, recommendations for ways to prevent such problems, and suggested management in order to prevent complications;
Helpful hints, teaching strategies, and other information may also be included.

A resume of the demonstrator should also be submitted. Procedure demonstrations are meant to provide professional, non-commercial exchanges of information and experience. As a result, printed materials provided by product manufacturers are not acceptable as handouts and presenters must be practicing dialysis nurses.

The deadline for submitting procedure proposals is October 5, 2009. Acceptance of the proposal does not waive the conference registration fee. Proposals should be sent to:
