Second Year (PGY3) Dermatology Resident Responsibilities:
- Six weeks of call per year
- Cover 4th of July holiday
- Collaborate with Dr Cheek to develop Dermatopathology curriculum
- Assist in applicant interviewing process, under direction of the residency program director and coordinator
- Special lectures (nursing, health fairs, skin cancer screening, television), will be divided amongst the Second and Third year residents
- Share responsibility for PBL M2 lectures in May with Third year residents
- Complete two months of Dermatology Surgery/Mohs Surgery, rotating months with other residents
- The Dermatology Surgery/Mohs resident is required to be available by pager 24 hours, seven days per week for any patient complications.
- Assist First year residents in surgery when asked.
- Assist First year residents with obtaining board review materials
- Share responsibility with the First year residents in calling outstanding pathology and laboratory results to patients of graduating Third year residents after they have departed.
- Required to attend Basic Science Review Course at Indiana University
- Assume Third year (Chief Resident) responsibilities beginning after the in-service examination
- To complete Case Conference logbook while on Consult rotation
- Attend the AAD Annual Conference, unless on call.
- Call for the AAD will be determined between the Second year residents, in conjunction with the Residency Program Director.
