First Year Residents (PGY2) Dermatology Resident Responsibilities:
  • Inpatient call: 
    • Rotated on a per patient basis
    • Organized through residency program director
    • One first year resident is always on call
  • Seven weeks of call per year, beginning Labor Day.
    • Coverage for the consult pager will not be required, unless an upper lever resident is unavailable
  • Cover Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, and Memorial Day holidays
  • After May 1st,  first year residents assume Second year responsibilities in addition to remaining First year responsibilities
  • Keep the record/log of Mid-Missouri Dermatological Society patients
  • Required to attend Basic science Review Course at Indiana University
  • Share responsibility with Second year residents for call in outstanding pathology and laboratory results to patients of the graduating Third year residents
  • Attend AAD Annual Conference.
  • Solo VA surgery clinic coverage begins after completion of the first 6 months of residency.
