One of the country’s most respected former senators, Senator Tom Daschle has crossed party lines throughout his extensive career in public service, working with both Democrats and Republicans to make a difference in the lives of millions of Americans. From healthcare reform to addressing poverty relief in the developing world, Daschle has been an influential voice in American politics. Although he is no longer in the Senate, Daschle continues to be a driving force in health care reform. In 2007, he joined with former Majority Leaders George Mitchell, Bob Dole, and Howard Baker to form the Bipartisan Policy Center, an organization dedicated to finding common ground on some of the pressing public policy issues of our time.
