You may apply through the NRMP for either a categorical or an advanced position. The three year clinical anesthesia curriculum consists of experiences in basic anesthesia, subspecialty anesthesia and advanced anesthesia training. During the CA-3 year the resident and Program Director will select one of three tracks: Advanced Clinical, Subspecialty Clinical or Clinical Scientist tracks. The PGY-1 year in anesthesia consists of three months internal medicine, three months child health and four to five months of general surgery and emergency medicine. The department can also assist you in obtaining a clinical base year in either General Surgery or Internal Medicine if you would prefer. We will work with the individual departments to coordinate interviews and rank lists.
