The five award categories are:
Citation of Merit
Awarded to an alumnus who has made a significant contribution to the field of medicine.

Awarded to alumni age 45 or younger who have distinguished themselves in medicine.

Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society Alumni Membership
AOA recognizes outstanding students and faculty members for academic achievement, dedication and leadership. Each year, MU’s Gamma Chapter also considers the election of MU medical alumni who graduated at least 10 years ago. AOA considers nominees at its annual chapter meeting in the spring.

Each of the five awards listed above have the same nomination requirements: a letter from the nominator, no more than two letters of support, and a detailed resume.
