Graduates of our medical school and graduate medical education programs are eligible. The five award categories are:

Citation of Merit

Awarded to an alumnus who has made a significant contribution to the field of medicine.

Outstanding Young Physician Award

Awarded to alumni age 45 or younger who have distinguished themselves in medicine.

Awarded to alumni who have distinguished themselves through community service.

Awarded to non-alumni who have made special contributions to MU’s medical school.

Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society Alumni Membership

AOA recognizes outstanding students and faculty members for academic achievement, dedication and leadership. Each year, MU’s Gamma Chapter also considers the election of MU medical alumni who graduated at least 10 years ago. AOA considers nominees at its annual chapter meeting in the spring.
